Jackson Walnut Park School / Kids Corner is looking to hire a dynamic after-school teacher to join our after-school program. This position reports to Kids Corner Director / Kids Corner Administrator/ Head of School.
In this role, you'll oversee and plan daily activities. You'll also create progress reports to inform parents about their child's studies and personal development.
To ensure success as an after-school teacher, you should be able to encourage social, physical, and intellectual growth within children and possess a strategic mindset. Ultimately, the ideal candidate after-school teacher should be a friendly, approachable individual with a passion for teaching and excellent communication skills.
Jackson Walnut Park School is a Montessori early childhood program and a growth-centered elementary school, serving children ages 18 months through Grade 6. Responsibilities:
- Planning, preparing, and implementing learning and interactive activities.
- Interacting with children to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation to complete tasks.
- Maintaining an organized and clean classroom environment and ensuring students conduct themselves appropriately.
- Ensuring that all school rules, policies, and guidelines are adhered to in the classroom.
- Assists and supports the Program Director daily.
- Always ensures the safety of children.
- Serves as a positive influence and role model for all children.
- Supervise children's play, interactions, and behavior.
- Promotes positive teamwork through example setting.
- take initiative and work without direct supervision.
- maintain the cleanliness and organization of the after-school program (including the gym, playground, art room, and storage space)
- Work with team members around the daily implementation and creation of projects and activities that are fun, stimulating, engaging and age appropriate.
- Maintain consistent ground rules with the children.
- Promote good rapport and healthy relationships with parents.
- Assist children with their homework and activities.
- Guide and direct the children in meaningful experiences.
- Adhere to program policies and procedures as stated in the employee handbook.
Requirements:
- An associate degree in teaching, early childhood education, or a similar field.
- CPR Certified and how to administer Epi-pen.
- A minimum of 1 year’ experience of relevant experience.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to foster a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Strong knowledge of child behavior and learning patterns.
- Ability to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient always.
- Excellent communicator and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to set rules and guidelines for children to follow.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Schedule :
Monday-Friday
11:00 am - 6 pm daily during the school year, 10:00am-5pm during the summer program.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.00 per hour
