Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate must have the ability to properly and professional route patient phone calls
-Receive and route urgent hospital consult calls to on call physicians
-Assist patients, doctors and staff with scheduling needs, have the ability to serve as a backup to Front Desk staff including check in/out, co-pay collection, updating patient demographics and other general administrative duties such as faxing and scanning
-The ability to multitask is a must!
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
-General knowledge of insurance policies
-Occasionally serve as a back up to the Front Desk
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in using EMR such as Epic
- Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with phone systems and basic office equipment
