Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
Client Interaction
- Verify prescription
- Comply with federal, state and local regulations (i.e. HIPAA, OSHA, CMA, etc)
- Show empathy, understanding, and attempt to be relatable to the patient to help them get through their difficult time
- Being detail-oriented and responsive- it is important to listen, pay attention, and pick up on cues that the patient may be trying to give you.
Client Education
- Provides customer service and purpose of equipment to clinics, physicians, therapists, and patients in hospital and home setting
- Educates and trains office staff to maintain inventory in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Responsible for proper fitting and instructions of soft goods, bracing, bone growth stimulation, and all other products dispensed at clinics or a patient home
- Provides product application and instruction during the initial fitting and at any follow-up visits or calls
- Ability to make necessary product modifications to fit the patient according to the physicians order
- Coordinates with patients for follow-up fitting appointments as necessary
- Provide/obtain required documentation/signature to/from client
- Must be knowledgeable in the following areas:
- Use and care of the products
- Fitting problems and how to solve them
- Company’s services and availability
- Patient instruction and follow-up
- Serves as a liaison between customer and organization
- Assure safety of end user environment through communication and/or home assessment depending on place of service
Products
- Instructs provider’s office staff on how to handle, document, and reissue products in the case of defective products
- Responsible for educating provider’s staff members to Kinex policies/procedures
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues and respond to questions, issues, and problems of moderate to complex scope
- Communicate solution for client resolution and provide timely resolution
- Complete applicable documentation
- Manages new product requests from the clinics and works with the internal Kinex for approval
- Responsible for coordinating required audits of inventory as set forth by the management team
- Handles all defective products with the coordination of the warehousing department
- Ensures equipment is working properly and safely at end of “fitting”
Billing
- Ensures proper completion (both complete and accurate) of Insurance billing information forms
- Works within electronic medical record system to access appropriate patient information for billing, as well as to read and understand medical records
- Understands the billing process to educate the facility and patients
- Comply with professional billing standards (i.e. insurance, CMS, etc.)
- Adheres to all internal corporate compliance guidelines and government healthcare regulations, in addition to the policies and procedures set forth by the clinic or hospital administration
Practice Management and Professionalism
- Comply with CMS performance management requirements and appropriate organizational standards and policies
- Maintain the company’s image and reputation at the highest level possible
- Operate with integrity, ethics and honesty
- Flexibility in your daily schedule as services are patient timeline driven
- Operate with teamwork and cooperation
- Be available for weekend on-call in a rotating professional service pool which includes travel and home visits
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Other duties as assigned
