Description
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, functionality, and quality of Emerge’s software products. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases to identify defects and validate requirements. You will collaborate closely with community managers and the development team to maintain high-quality standards throughout the development lifecycle. Additionally, you will serve as a technical support specialist, maintaining customer/technical support tools and coordinating with end users and the development team to address reported issues effectively. This role requires competency in analyzing an existing framework and databases, participating in data migrations, and being a developer advocate on behalf of our stakeholders on observed issues when corresponding with the development team.

Responsibilities
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure software reliability and functionality.
- Executing test cases and reporting defects to the development team.
- Maintaining high-quality standards and test documentation throughout project lifecycles.
- Conducting ongoing regression testing to ensure that code changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
- Providing technical support to end users, including maintaining support tools and coordinating issue resolution with the product support team.
- Communicating effectively with both stakeholders and end users to understand and address reported issues.
- Analyzing frameworks and databases to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Assisting in data migration project(s) to ensure seamless transitions and data integrity between software.
- Advocating on behalf of stakeholders with the development team to ensure the efficiency, consistency, and practicality of what is built.
Requirements
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you must have:
- Moderate development experience with web and/or mobile applications.
- Moderate experience with managing databases.
- Experience with data migration processes and tools.
- Experience with digital accessibility standards and best practices.
- Confidence using/navigating mobile and web-based software.
- Strong listening skills, to understand and comprehend information conveyed through either spoken words or written forms.
- The ability to effectively communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing to ensure comprehension by others.
- The ability to discover and recognize potential issues, negative patterns, or other anomalies without necessarily solving them.
- Experience in analyzing systems, methodologies, and workflows to form conclusions that assist in ongoing feature planning/improvement.
- Competence in arranging items or actions according to specific rules or patterns, such as urgency, priority, or other logical sequences.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interaction skills to be able to work well with multiple internal teams, end users, and other stakeholders.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies and tools as needed.
