About the State Fair of Texas
Since its inception in 1886, the State Fair of Texas has celebrated all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment. The State Fair of Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with proceeds helping to preserve and improve our home, Fair Park; underwrite museums, community initiatives, and scholarship programs to support students throughout the Lone Star State pursuing higher education; and help improve State Fair operations.
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting management with various clerical and physical duties associated with fair preparations and operations.
The Coupon Sales Office Staff is responsible for ensuring that all ad-hoc assignments from management are completed successfully and on time. Duties can vary from clerical to physical tasks.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

Perform all assigned tasks with the utmost effort and efficiency

Follow the directions provided by management

Listen carefully to instructions to ensure assignment is completed successfully
Marginal Functions:

Document all issues encountered and keep management informed

Respond to all problem issues associated with the pre-fair preparation in a timely fashion

Perform various miscellaneous ad-hoc office tasks as required
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:

Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment

Basic personal computer skills (set up, cabling, re-booting)

People skills

Telephone etiquette
Ability to:

Accurately complete all ad-hoc assignments in a timely manner

Be courteous to your peers when working to resolve problems

Communicate with all Coupon Sales staff in a courteous manner

Pay attention to details in performing your tasks

Keep all areas safe and clean

Adhere and enforce all rules and regulations found in the employee handbook
EXPERIENCE and TRAINING GUIDELINES
Any combination of experience that would likely provide the required knowledge is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Preferred Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Basic clerical and personal computer functionality

Required to attend bi-annual Golf Cart/Scooter class

Required to attend Annual SFT Safety Training
License or Certificate:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate Texas driver's license.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED and EXERCISED

Receives general supervision from assigned management

Exercises no supervision over others
