Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment and facilities to ensure smooth operations. This includes handling daily work orders, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Work Orders and Equipment Upgrades
- Process daily work orders and upgrades of facility equipment.
- Handle preventive maintenance on scheduled equipment.
- Equipment Repairs
- Repair manufacturing equipment such as vessels, packaging filling equipment, electrical systems, and controls.
- Assist with general repairs in the Utility Department.
- Preventive Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) as assigned.
- Inspect and test machinery to identify potential issues.
- Compliance and Safety
- Maintain GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) training compliance.
- Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and good housekeeping procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Support for Engineering Projects
- Assist with engineering projects as needed.
- Support the installation, calibration, and upgrading of equipment.
- General Facility Maintenance
- Maintain the facility's systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Conduct routine inspections and address any maintenance needs.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Report significant issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Technical Skills and Operations
- Repair machine parts using general machine shop equipment,
- Work in clean areas
- Operate in an aseptic environment (training provided).
- Other Duties
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Scope of Position
- Process daily work orders and preventive maintenance, including troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading production, facility, and lab equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
- Experience: At least [3] years in industrial maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing setting.
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient with tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals and diagrams.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work for long periods.
- Comfortable working in different temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
Working Conditions
- Mostly works indoors but may occasionally work outside.
