Water Production: Reports to Water and SCADA Operations Manager.
Operates heavyweight trucks or tractor-trailers over the road, requiring a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT Endorsement. Required to perform strenuous labor incidental to the operation of the equipment. Reviews, understands and adheres to rules, regulations, and guidelines of the Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and ECUA's Human Resources Manual. Performs routine maintenance on and safety checks of assigned equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Drives vehicles that require a Class A CDL to complete assigned duties and responsibilities.
Performs minor/preventive maintenance on assigned vehicle/equipment.
Performs strenuous labor incidental to the operation of equipment.
Lifts, moves and carries bags of lime and/or hoses weighing 50 lbs. or more. Utilizes proper lifting techniques
Maintains job and equipment records and completes routine forms and records.
Maintains chemical inventory records.
Prepares daily chemical delivery schedules.
Maintain current knowledge of chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Maintains truck and equipment in a safe and operable condition at all times by performing daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections.
Maintains regular communication with supervisor in order to report field problems and/or safety hazards.
Maintains job and equipment records and completes applicable forms and records.
All other duties as assigned.
- For Truck/Tractor Trailer Drivers assigned to Water Reclamation:
Ability to maneuver 80,000 lb. tractor and tanker in remote areas at all hours.
Haul waste sludge from outlying locations (Pensacola Beach, Bayou Marcus).
Emergency and planned assistance at ECUA locations throughout service area for lift station and system repairs.
General cleaning and maintenance of equipment as necessary.
Operation of vehicles in and around composting facility.
Perform pre-and post-trip inspections of equipment.
Assist Regional Services, Engineering, and Lift Stations with collection system problems, maintenance, and preplanned projects.
Delivers and unloads biosolids to composting facility and landfill.
All other duties as assigned.
