Dr. Jeffery E. Gates and Associates is looking for someone polished with insurance experience. Medical office front desk required. Minimum two (2) continuous years.
We are looking for a highly organized individual with the ability to multitask manage their time effectively. This energetic person should feel comfortable interacting and communicating effectively with patients of all ages. Due to extensive training and need for continuity of patient care, we are interested in an individual who is looking for long-term career in the field of Optometry.
Our office operates in a professional, mature, patient - focused manner.
Strong background in Insurance verification, insurance billing and posting payments required.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies via clearing house and paper claims.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies.
Posting Insurance Payments and patient payments.
Answering Phones
Scanning documents
Faxing
Checking patient in and out
Scheduling appointments and referrals
Gathering insurance information
Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits for Medicare, Humana, BCBS and most Medicare Advantage plans.
Collecting co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, past due balances and personal payments.
Handle inquiries about insurances accepted, hours, services, exam fees, etc.
Reconciling daily cash report
Conducting and assisting with patient confirmations
Contact lens ordering
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a medical office front desk capacity.
Proficient in using electronic health record systems and medical billing software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
Optometric front desk experience of 6 months of more strongly preferred.
Medical front desk 2 years required if no optometric background.
Chrystal Practice Management software knowledge very helpful.
Looking for a positive, friendly people-oriented person with a diligent work ethic and a reasonable math/accounting sense.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
Ability to thrive in a very fast-paced environment.
Insurance knowledge
Detail oriented and organized.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer skills.
Ability to follow directions
Must be available: Monday - Friday.
Must live within 25 minutes of Clarksburg, WV.
