Position Summary
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, hands-on and highly confident finance leader to strategically support the senior executive team working towards an ambitious growth strategy. You will be deeply involved at a strategic and tactical level with full responsibility for the finance and accounting functions which includes closing the books, creating financial models and budgets, and participating in financial analysis of M&A and other business activities. This is a true “roll up your sleeves” environment where you will wear multiple hats and contribute on significant levels. You will also focus on upgrading reporting and visibility in all areas of the business with an emphasis on analytical and data-driven decision making.

Position Overview
- Oversee financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation
- Create and own cash flow and P&L forecasting tools
- Manage all expense reporting, coding, and billing
- Process payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform monthly account reconciliations
- Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure Paynuity’s performance
- Produce and monitor the annual budget and weekly forecasts
- Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate annual tax filings
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Develop, document and maintain business processes and accounting policies; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support decision-making
- Monitor cash flow, investments, and banking activities
- Support senior management team in financial planning and results management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Experience in fintech startups or venture capital is a plus
- Experience in the payments industry is also a plus
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards including Sales Tax filing and SEC regulations
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Good problem-solving and time management skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks & Microsoft Office tools (Excel proficiency is a must).
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a self-starter
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities and relationships
- Willingness to intensively and rapidly dive into understanding the needs of Paynuity’s growing platform
- Flexibility to travel, work some nights and weekends
