Senior Tax Accountant

Our Tax Accountants play a critical role in our business by leading all tax related responsibilities for an assigned book of clients and operates as the Client Manager. This team member is responsible for ensuring that they deliver on all tax planning, projection and preparation activities by partnering with the client throughout the year. The Tax Accountant is responsible for developing the business owners’ annual salary projection, annual tax projection, along with providing advice on tax strategies prior to the completion of the annual small business and business owner’s individual tax returns.
Core Responsibilities:
· Partner with an assigned group of client accounts (100-120) to support their ongoing tax needs throughout the year. Oversee client tax management and all interactions.
· Facilitate client meetings for salary projections; support clients with ongoing tax planning and advise on annual tax strategies.
· Prepare and review tax returns (S-Corp, LLC, 1040) for the small business owners’ corporate and individual needs including any Schedule Tax Forms.
· Conduct any tax research and facilitate planning and execution of back work.
· Consult with clients to help them understand their financials and guide them toward greater profitability.
· Identify areas of tax savings for clients and develop strategy on execution of savings.
· For Enrolled Agents, partner with the IRS on behalf of assigned clients in the areas of tax resolution.
· Complete and review client engagement/tax project work.
· Resolution of client issues as needed.
· Identify opportunities within client base to expand services; partner with Sales team to share opportunities for presenting new solutions that result in client growth & satisfaction.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree; in Accounting, Finance or related field.
· Highly preferred is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) credentialing.
· 5-7 years of recent experience in producing tax returns for S-Corps, LLCs, Partnerships, Sole Proprietors, and other entities.
· Ability to complete business owners’ 1040 personal return.
· Deep understanding of tax forms (1065, 1120-S, K-1, etc.) and laws.
· Intermediate to Expert proficiency within industry tax software (UltraTax preferred) required.
· Experience in QuickBooks is a plus.
· Previous experience meeting with clients; presenting, explaining, and discussing financial reports with clients.
Salary Information:
Salary Range: Starting at $110,000 and will commensurate with experience and skills presented.
