ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for exporting parts and nesting programs for the Press Brake, Laser, and Plasma. (Bysoft Bend, Bysoft Cut, and Pronest Software are utilized).
- Must be willing to effectively communicate with project managers and customers regarding all aspects of the product design.
- Work seamlessly with production to correct any issues that occur as the result of customer drawings.
- Responsible for creating shop drawings, as well as detailed part drawings, from the customer prints in accordance to the specifications and tolerances. You will also be responsible for generating a checklist for the manufacturing process.
- Read and Interpret blueprints. Understand the tolerances and specifications of each project.
- Work with shop floor to provide consistent drawings and find ways to enhance the manufacturing process using best practices for lean manufacturing.
- Responsible for tracking, correcting, and communicating revisions on projects.
- Work effectively within a team environment.
- Work on multiple projects and tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Have excellent communication and organization skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to visually utilize computers and other office equipment to properly enter information, as well as read documentation.
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and arm motions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch and crawl for long periods of time. Continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs. without physical restrictions on as needed basis.
- Must always wear appropriate PPE such as safety glasses, welding helmets, hearing protection, gloves and safety toe boots.
- Able to work in hot and cold environments during summer and winter months.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience working in an industrial steel fab shop is preferred.
- We are a metal fabrication shop. Qualified candidates will be proficient using various 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks and Autocad. Effectively utilize various nesting platforms as well as Microsoft Office.
- Create and revise drawings in Solid Works. Read and interpret blueprints. Offer suggestions and new approaches to design, production, and quality. Assist production as needed. Work effectively within a team environment. This position is a very hands-on position and may require one to get their hands dirty at times.

- Must possess excellent communication skills to work effectively with others.
- Able to prepare concise, accurate written documents.
- Must be able to prepare and deliver oral and written direction to shop, office staff and customers.
- Must be able to understand and communicate both verbally and in written form in English.
- Must be willing to accept change and act accordingly.
- Must be willing to be flexible and willing to accept a variety of tasks as assigned.
