The Utility cook works autonomously to provide a family style meal for approximately 24 retired educators from local prominent schools. The Cook is responsible for preparation, serving of meals, cleaning and restocking of the kitchen and dining room area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times.
- Prepares high-quality food items according to recipes and instructions from Food Service Director
- Serves meals, meeting established standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and appetizing.
- Cleans kitchen, serving and Dining Room areas after preparation and meal service, washes dishes, utensils, glassware, pots and pans ,maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensures food and supply items are stocked at proper levels.
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment.
- Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting.
- Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies.
- Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintains good relationships with coworkers, clients, administrator and manager.
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must have knowledge of safe food handling procedures and quality cooking skills
- Must be flexible with schedule and have reliable transportation
- Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods of time
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.28 - $19.93 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
