Lead “Design for Manufacture and Assembly” (DFMA) reviews, on assigned programs with product engineering team(s), including GD&T review of product(s).
Responsible for Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) input for all capital, tooling, gauges and plant expense on new programs. Report on status (timing and expenditures) against CAR, including deviations, delays and potential risks to program timing. Writing PO requisitions and delivery and tracking of purchase orders to vendors will also be involved.
Develop plant layout, process flow, equipment tracking and manufacturing process for new programs. The AME is responsible to track and update all documentation until product launch.
Responsible for on time Manufacturing Sign Offs for all PLUS gates. Getting equipment built, installed and PPAP’d on time to meet customer deliverables.
Work with production plant to assure staffing, plant layout, utility needs and timing are understood and agreed upon.
Participate in SDT with Program Management, identify capital, tooling and resource needs to execute program.
Manage equipment suppliers to program timing expectations and deliverables. Maintain “Open Issues Lists” (OILs) on both equipment and manufacturing development. Drive resolution to ensure program needs are addressed.
Work with the production plant to assure timely and proper installation and qualification of the capital equipment occurs, program expectations are met (financial and performance) and a smooth and effective transition and hand-off is realized.
