Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSMI) in the Office Services Unit, the Office Technician (T) (OT) will function as the Administrative Support Technician and will provide clerical and administrative support to the CalGEM Central District office. Tasks will be performed utilizing a personal computer, facsimile machine, photocopier, scanner, printer, telephone, and other office equipment. Microsoft Office Suite software programs will be used extensively. The incumbent is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and provide clear communication. This position will perform difficult clerical work requiring the ability to use proper grammar and spelling, make arithmetical computations, follow oral and written instructions, evaluate situations accurately and take effective action, prepare forms, maintain records and communicate respectfully with the public and District staff.

Working Conditions
This position is located in Bakersfield and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must reside in California and be able to satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. The hybrid telework schedule will allow for up to three days of remote work per week depending on department needs.
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview but must show proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
