Overview:
Responsible for the permanent installation, setup, service, and maintenance of audio, video, and
intercom equipment and systems. Performs installation tasks including, but not limited to cable
pulls, cable terminations, system equipment and components, rack fabrication, and wiring layout
for equipment as well as the ability to troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
The technician works independently or as a team using a company-provided van.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and
professional audiovisual systems.
- Install speakers, microphones, amplifiers, projectors, video walls, and other audio/visual
equipment.
- Physically installing, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all types of commercial
and professional audio/visual technology at client work sites.
- Working indoors and outdoors.
- Working at heights that may exceed 20ft. using ladders, electric scissor lifts, and
scaffolding.
- Working in ceiling crawl spaces and other tight or difficult spaces.
- Complete daily reports and documents manually and/or using an iPad/computer.
- Work from and interpret sales orders, work orders, manuals, technical drawings,
schematics, blueprints, layouts, and engineering documents.
Qualifications:
- Excellent in-person and remote communication skills.
- Clean driving abstract.
- Valid state of Hawaii driver's license.
- Willing and able to drive a company van and maintain a driving record that meets the
company’s insurability criteria and safety focus.
- Proficient in using basic hand and power tools.
- Available to work days, nights, weekends.
- Available for 60%-75% neighbor island travel including overnight and multiple overnights.
- Available for last-minute travel to the neighbor islands.
- Ability to comfortably work at heights on lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a construction environment wearing PPE, dusty unclean
workspaces, and lack of climate control.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Must pass a physical screening.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in audio/visual systems installation and service, or related field or work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
