Center for Black Church Studies Coordinator
Northern Seminary seeks a qualified candidate for the role of Coordinator for Northern Seminary’s Center for Black Church Studies. The Center for Black Studies Coordinator will support the recruiting, direction, and formation of the Black Church Studies programs. This individual would have competency in Black cultural movements, theology, and core fundamentals of Black History. This individual must have strong written, verbal skills, organizational skills, and a personable disposition. Ideally, the candidate has a strong ability to reliably support procedures, coordinate communication, and provide solid administrative functions. Preference given to the individual who has a background in lead/sales management, specifically versed in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools such as HubSpot.

NORTHERN SEMINARY
Position Title: Black Studies Program Coordinator Department: Academics
FLSA Status: Part-Time (10-15 hours/week)
Compensation: $28/hour
Reports to: Director of Black Church Studies, Dean of Mission and Integration
Primary Responsibilities:
Black Church Studies Program Coordinator Duties
- Strategically build student profiles to support the ideal prospective Black Church Studies student.
- Build strategic plans for the recruitment and retention of Black Church Studies prospective students.
- Network with local Black churches and Black church leader professional groups.
- Create recruiting pipelines through webinars, blogs, and other communication outlets.
- Must work closely with Northern Seminary Marketing office to build a sustainablemarketing outlook and customer journey.
- Facilitate phone and email correspondence with prospective students and partners.
- Manage student database systems (Populi), and track leads within HubSpot.
- Support Director of the Center for Black Church Studies in the formation of student pathways and retention.
- Assist with Commencement, Founders Day, as well as other recruiting events when needed.
- Support the Center’s operations by identifying issues, solutions, and prevention.
- Assist in preparing materials for the Center for Black Church Studies recruiting, events,and Northern merchandise.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of and in agreement with the mission and values of Northern Seminary. •Knowledge of techniques used in database systems, especially academic
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities in a timely fashion
- Ability to problem solve with viable and reasonable solutions
- Ability to communicate content clearly and concisely to a variety of constituents
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within the Seminary • Ability to learn the details of Northern Seminary programs and degrees
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or experience in working in academia.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in not-for-profit field and/or office administration. • General knowledge of computer programs, database software Populi, social media, Excel, and MS Word. Website, Photoshop, and graphic skills highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and carry a project from start to finish
- Well cultivated network among local Black churches and Black professional groups. • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions
- Staff meetings are monthly.
