The Role
Under the general direction of the AVP of Transitional Housing, the Senior Transitional Housing Director is responsible for the overall clinical management and administrative operations of his/her assigned transitional housing sites. He or she is responsible for managing and monitoring the job performance of assigned transitional housing directors. This position assures the quality of transitional housing services provided to persons served. The Senior Transitional Housing Director facilitates communication between transitional housing staff and agency administration. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.
Responsibilities:
What You Will Do

Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with OTDA & DHS rules, regulations, and guidelines.

Supervises and monitors assigned transitional housing environments to ensure that behavioral guidelines are followed, a therapeutic milieu is maintained and interpersonal relationships remain positive.

Participates in hiring, training, and supervision of staff.

Monitors the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of transitional housing’s social services and the safety of the environment of care. Provides supervision to assigned transitional housing directors.

Manages transitional housing services, improves existing services, and develops new service delivery components to meet the needs of persons served.

Responds to emergency issues, and consultation, 24/7 as necessary.

Assists in developing, implementing, and deploying agency policies and procedures.

Provides administrative supervision for plant operations; ensures a safe and secure environment of care.

Reports to Executive Staff issues related to transitional housing operations vis-à-vis OTDA & DHS.

Ensures social services staff maintains accurate, complete, and timely records that comply with OTDA & DHS requirements and expectations, regulatory standards, and agency internal policy and procedure.
Qualifications:
Who You Will Be

Relevant graduate degrees, such as a Master in Public Administration, Master in Public Health, Master in Social Work, or other related fields.

Minimum Five (5) years of relevant experience, including Three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Strong leadership; effective management, organizational, writing, and communication skills.

Ability to implement and monitor policy and procedure in accordance with agency guidelines.

Knowledgeable about DHS and OTDA state and local laws and regulations governing transitional housing programs.
