Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral is seeking experienced veterinary technicians for our busy Emergency department. The 24/7 Emergency service works closely with Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral, a specialty referral practice offering Surgery, Orthopedics, and Animal Rehabilitation. We have CT scanning capabilities to compliment our digital xray and ultrasound services along with full in house labs.
The current technician positions are full time, 3-12 hour shifts. Overnight shifts available with shift differential pay. A minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience is required with previous work in emergency and/or specialty practice preferred. For immediate consideration apply today!
Technicians duties include:
- Triaging incoming emergency patients and managing their care throughout their visit.
- Assisting the ER veterinarian with the assessment, diagnostics, procedures and treatments.
- Obtaining TPR, blood pressure using a Doppler ultrasonic device.
- Intubating, inducing and monitoring patients under anesthesia.
- Assisting ICU with treatments of hospitalized patients.
- Must be proficient in phlebotomy and IV catheter placement.
- Beginning the medical record and physical exam report, entering charges into the computer, updating treatment orders and maintaining detailed and accurate medical records.
- Providing exceptional customer service to clients both in the hospital and over the phone.
- General housekeeping duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
