Position Summary:
The PET/SPECT Technologist is proficient in all diagnostic studies performed in the Nuclear Medicine department which requires independent judgement and initiative. This position requires traveling from Scottsdale to Glendale Clinic occasionally.
Responsibilities:
· Obtains patient history, performs nuclear medicine studies and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient’s safety and comfort.
· Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repairs and/or maintenance.
· Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment for patients and staff in department. Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
· Maintains accreditation.
· Proficient IV skills ·
Ensures the safe receipt, administration, storage and disposal of radioactive materials utilizing ALARA principles
-Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Valid certification in Radiologic Technology.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in various imaging modalities, including mammography, sonography, CT, PET scan, and X-Ray.
- Excellent technical skills to operate imaging equipment effectively.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations accurately and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
