Job Title: Controls Project Design Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated individual with technical knowledge and experience to join our team as a Controls Project Design Engineer. This role involves the design of controls projects, material selection, and development of sequences of operation for various projects. The successful candidate will also produce closeout documents upon project completion. Proficiency in computer skills and an understanding of computer-operated systems and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, VISIO, EDS) are required. Collaboration with the Project Manager and/or assigned Project Engineer to ensure timely project completion is essential. Occasionally, this role will involve software design tasks to support development in larger system applications. Some travel and job site visits may be required.
Essential Functions:
- Research and select control system peripherals.
- Produce control systems design drawings, sequence of operations, and submittals for lower-level control systems while supporting senior-level design engineers for mid-level control systems.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
- Collaborate with other project team members to identify additional options for customers (e.g., Energy Efficiency, Equipment Interface, and Value Engineering).
- Modify previously produced controls designs to reflect field changes made during implementation (As-Builts).
- Generate Operation & Maintenance manuals at project close.
- Manage time and cost budgets for assigned project tasks as delegated by the Project Manager or higher-level Design Engineer.
- Communicate effectively with project team members concerning problems, obstacles, issues, and information needs from the field.
- Submit daily and/or weekly summary of work reports to project team leadership.
- Manage weekly time allocations for multiple assigned projects to ensure on-time submission of time sheets.
- Practice safe work habits and participate in office safety programs and specific safety requirements of assigned projects.
- Attend and successfully complete OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 safety training classes.
- Take personal responsibility for the successful completion of assigned formal training and development plans.
- Participate in ongoing development programs with other entry-level engineers.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical school training.
- Ability to read construction blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Windows, File Structure, AutoCAD, VISIO, and basic TCP/IP network structure and web navigation.
- Highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet schedules.
- Ability to operate independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to ensure high customer satisfaction and deliver high-quality results.

Compensation:
- $75,000 per year plus benefits
