This is a year round, full-time position with state of the art gate acces, gps and camera technology. Cordillera Public Agents rotate between staffing a gated entrance to the community and conducting driving patrol of the community. Throughout the shift, they respond to emergency situations and depending on the severity of a situation they provide support to emergency responders and/or law enforcement personnel.
Public Safety Agents engage with Cordillera residents, visitors, staff, contractors, service providers and community partners. On some days, customer interactions will be the majority of the shift. Provide exceptional customer service while simultaneously assessing potential security risk in all interactions. Enforce and educate regarding Cordillera policies in a courteous manner, deescalating situations and engaging additional assistance or providing resources as needed.
Security software systems are utilized on computers and tablet devices to enter data, write detailed reports, conduct information searches or pull reports. Proficiency with technology and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, are regularly utilized to take and write incident reports. Proficiency with technology to utilize software to its full capability is important.
Officers are regularly required to exercise quick decision-making ability in various scenarios that require both working as an individual and as a member of a larger team. All staff are expected to be self-starters, identifying and prioritizing administrative and field projects to utilize down-time most effectively.
Following training and competency in the basic job requirements, Public Safety Agents will be provided additional training and will be expected to advance in responsibility. Additional responsibilities will include code enforcement for the community to monitor streets, residences, and construction sites for compliance to community regulations; healthy forest and fire mitigation property inspections, data tracking, and community education; safety and risk assessments and tracking; and ongoing emergency readiness activities to prepare the staff and community for natural disaster and other common emergency scenarios.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Must possess or be able to successfully complete basic first aid, CPR and AED training and maintain these certifications set forth by the American Red Cross or equivalent association. Training is provided by the employer.
- Customer service experience is required. Security experience and emergency response training is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal/human relations skills required. A positive can-do attitude and the ability to work both as a team member and an individual is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Computer skills and comfort operating software on desktop and mobile platforms required.
- Ability to respond in a calm manner to an emergency situation.
- Uniforms are provided. Adherence to the uniform standards and a professional, groomed appearance required.
