Medical Assistant
As the Medical Assistant, you will assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Physician. You will also interview patients, record information in patients' charts, draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Must be available to work in Johns Creek office location as main site. Pending experience, may be needed at other locations occasionally to fill in when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Perform basic patient assessment procedures including histories and vital signs using NextGen EMR system
- Must be proficient with typing and follow instructions for EMR documentation
- Assist with biopsies, surgeries, and cosmetic procedures
- Call patients with procedure results
- Phone in prescription refills and also via e-prescribe in EMR
- Ensure all prior authorizations are handled in a timely and efficient manner
- Schedule appointments
- Stock rooms with needed supplies
- Maintain general housekeeping duties
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Certification required/preferred
- 2+ years experience in a medical office as a Medical Assistant; Dermatology experience is a plus
- NextGen / EMR experience preferred
- Energetic and enthusiastic with a desire to learn new skills
- Strong multi-tasking and problem solving skills
- Capable of working independently while remaining an integral part of the back office team
- Computer proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Professional communication skills
