The Estimation Engineer (EE) is responsible for low and high level repair quotes, large repair jobs, sizing and quoting new equipment replacements, and managing projects. You will be working closely with management to advise office staff, technicians, and vendors so that all aspects of a job or project are accounted for and coordinated. They will also assist to ensure the coordination and flawless execution of jobs and projects for the Company is effectively handled. Additionally, you will work close with the administrative team in the office to be a technical resource and provide aid and direction as needed. The "EE" is involved with sales process of new projects, repair quotes, field technician guidance and support.
This position will also aid in identifying and deploying new technologies and initiatives to further our product offerings.
Day To Day Duties
- Assist customers and administrative staff with their needs or questions.
- Work with office staff to schedule service technicians as needed for your projects.
- Lead and assist on finding vendors and parts as needed for non-standard repairs.
- Maintain effective productivity and grow the business by meeting and exceeding financial goals.
- File and reconcile warranty and related issues with customers and suppliers.
- May be required to conduct out of town business or training.
- It is required to support the other departments as needed.
- Evaluate and reestablish yearly work goals.
- Taking calls from potential customers then determining what may be needed.
- Responsible for reviewing technicians paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Responsible for identifying and addressing any deficiencies.
- Assist generator service technicians as needed if they need guidance.
- Provide insight to schedulers to help ensure technicians are scheduled in an efficient manner.
- Estimate technicians time for your projects and quotes.
- Review of completed jobs and paperwork to ensure jobs are properly closed out and ready to invoice.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- To be successful at this position, 3 years experience with generators or a bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Computer literacy is required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel), and Adobe.
- Ability to handle working in a NON-climate controlled environment whether at customer site or in branch warehouse as needed.
- Working knowledge of a Microsoft Access.
- Ability to lead and a desire to grow into more leadership and management roles
