Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintenance, repair, fueling of Service Customer generators.
- Preventative maintenance, load bank, and field repairs of 20kW–1000kW generators.
- Generator Controls: H Panel, Voltage Regulator.
- Transfer Switch: Diagnostic/repair on all brands.
- Generac warranty repairs up to: 150kW.
- Assist Senior Technicians with field service repairs.
- Shop/Field fabrication, welding, pipe threading, etc.
- Delivery, pick-up, and set-up of generators, light towers, cable and accessories.
Training/Certifications:
- Engine small bore.
- RV, Portable, Air-Cooled Generators.
- Commercial I, II Certifications.
- 1-year FT4 experience or equivalent.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently in the field.
- Good customer service/communication skills.
- Working knowledge of D/C and A/C electrical systems.
- Working experience of basic generator repairs.
- Working knowledge of Diesel, Natural Gas, LP Vapor engine maintenance, repair and troubleshooting.
- Fabrication experience: welding, pipe threading, etc
- Forklift certification or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license – Clean driving record.
- Ability to drive large trucks and tow equipment.
- Provide/Maintain personal hand tools.
Additional responsibilities:
- This position requires you to work after hours on-call as needed; ability to work irregular hours / overtime.
· Communicate with proper individuals to clarify instructions, discuss scope and/or the progress of job.
· Travel to remote locations as needed
- High School Diploma, GED – Preferred.
- Verbal and written communication in English; bilingual a plus.
- Ability to pass Background check, Physical and Drug screen – Required.
- Heavy lifting and physical exertion- Required.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Preferred.
- Occasional out of town projects.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently in the field.
- Be able to communicate (in English) verbally, writing, information, instructions and explanations to associates, clients and management regarding vehicle/component/equipment conditions, problems, recommendations, and service processes.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies & procedures and use of all required safety equipment.
- Fabrication experience: welding, pipe threading, etc
