Anderson, McPharlin & Conners is well-established civil litigation firm based in Los Angeles, California with satellite offices in Nevada and Arizona. We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Associate Attorney in our Los Angeles office to join our civil litigation practice. The ideal candidate has some litigation experience although new admittees to the State Bar will be considered, and must be team-oriented with strong research, writing and communication skills. Writing samples will be required, along with professional references.
Attorney Responsibilities:
Conduct research, prepare reports and legal documents, and perform other duties to develop and implement strategy
- Ability to identify key facts and issues, provide thoughtful analysis of the law and develop arguments, and provide recommendations
- Be responsive to clients and colleagues, and build meaningful relationships with clients based on trust and excellent work
- Prepare work product such as pleadings and discovery in a timely manner
- Be intentional to stay informed about developments in the law
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Maintain an attention to detail in all work product
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
- In good standing and able to practice law in the state of California
- Strong research, writing and critical thinking skills
- Knowledgeable, attentive, and proactive
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision but also able to work as part of a team
- Detail oriented and organized
- Professional and collegial
- Proficient with technology and Microsoft Office applications
