Position Title: Manufacturing Assistant
Position summary: The Manufacturing Assistant supports the Manufacturing Manager and production team by ensuring all production activities are accurately documented and tracked. This role involves maintaining production records, preparing reports, coordinating with various departments, and assisting in the smooth flow of the manufacturing process. The Manufacturing Assistant plays a key role in maintaining the efficiency and organization of the production floor.
Qualifications required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certification in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or administrative role.
- Experience with production data entry and inventory management preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems or production management software is advantageous.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Inventory Management and Production Tracking:
- Accurately input production inventory from shop orders into the system.
- Review production paperwork for completeness and accuracy to ensure data integrity.
- Verify materials and calculate production numbers for accuracy and consistency.
- Close shop orders promptly and efficiently.
Quality Assurance and Documentation:
- Submit Heat Seal and Thermoforming paperwork to the Quality Department for review and record-keeping.
- Print and prepare shop orders and labels for production use.
Employee Management:
- Review and authorize employee timecards and operational clocking entries to ensure accurate timekeeping.
- Monitor daily operations, addressing any time gaps or missed clocking to optimize productivity.
Logistics and Material Handling:
- Prepare regrind shipments for plastic material suppliers, relieve regrind from inventory, and send Bill of Lading (BOL) with credit amounts to the supplier and Accounting.
- Input receipts into IFS), ensuring documents are scanned and shredded as necessary.
- Deliver incoming UPS and FedEx packages to recipients promptly when applicable.
- Receive heat seal shuttle inventory from (FPG) Flexible Packaging Group to (D&P) Drum & Pail and enter the data into IFS.
Inventory Control:
- Manage raw material inventory, including boxes and pallets, ensuring optimal stock levels.
- Make necessary adjustments to raw material inventory to reflect accurate stock levels.
- Participate in yearly bank inventory audits to verify inventory accuracy.
- Move rejected materials to QC (Quality Control) and prepare return shipment documentation.
Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all quality and food safety policies and procedures to ensure CDF products meet all applicable customer, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties as required to support the overall operations and success of the company.

Physical demands:
While performing duties of the job, occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
