Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and caring Optical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and supporting the daily operations of our clinic. The successful candidate will be familiar with HIPAA regulations and have experience working in a medical setting.
Duties:
- Becoming familiar with billing vision insurances.
-Dispensing glasses and providing a proper fitting of eyewear.
- Assisting with repair and adjustments of eyewear.
- Recommending specific lenses and coatings to suit each patient needs and lifestyle.
- Assisting patients in styling and selection of frames and coordinate frames to prescription and patient needs.
-Taking PD and segment height measurements.
- Checking patients out and collecting correct copay amounts.
- Assisting with preliminary testing .
- Answering phone calls.
-Scheduling appointments.
-Keeping store clean and well organized.
Skills:
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records management.
- Experience working in medical setting.
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing systems.
- Experience with retail sales.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
