Summary:
Summary
The Master Data Administrator secures, reviews, troubleshoots, and processes master reference data requests in a timely and accurate manner. At Greenbrier Management Services, we support our customers in the rail transportation industry by performing a specialized suite of asset management, logistical, and financial services. These services invoke a unique blend of Customer and Supplier relationships that must be understood and managed carefully for us to deliver world-class customer service. The Master Data Administrator is part of the business effort to transform how we manage data as we prepare for a growing market. Part of this transformation is a transition from legacy tools to next-generation tools.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

Owner and subject matter expert for Greenbrier Management Services master data

Participates in collaborative onboarding process and secures all required reference data for new customers and vendors with direct contact via email and phone in a friendly and professional manner

Fulfills internal users’ data requests and communicate resolution back to users within agreed timelines

Analyzes and perform complex data updates within the system data platform and/or front-end user interface

Provides input on current support processes and suggest improvements

Operates in compliance of all GMS’s standard operating procedures and work instructions

Maintains a strong attention to detail while being aware of any downstream implications of data changes, consulting others where necessary

Collaborates with Service Delivery Teams to ensure full understanding of details of each system that requires data input/update

Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts to evaluate upstream and downstream implications in delivering resolutions to the customer end user

Expands knowledgebase of other master reference domains within GMS

Follows electronic document management protocols (currently managed with SharePoint and OnBase storage platforms)
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
-
3 years business data management experience
-
3 years customer service experience

Ability to organize and prioritize projects and information with accuracy

Accurate typing and data entry skills
-
Ability to learn about railcars, railcar components, and industry rules
-
Ability to identify, plan, start, and complete projects or other work that needs to be completed
-
Ability to work independently in a hybrid remote environment
-
Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, at all levels of the organization

Ability to learn new software tools
-
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power BI or other BI tools
