We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in the designing, engineering, and implementing of pre-assignment designs for cutting-edge mechanical systems within state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities serving global leaders in technology. As a Mechanical Engineer at SSOE, you will collaborate with fellow Mechanical Engineers, Design teams, and Senior Project Managers to develop innovative solutions for intricate and challenging designs, incorporating the latest design methodologies while ensuring adherence to specifications and timely project completion. This position is a hybrid role that will require you to occasionally work onsite and be located in the Hillsboro, OR area. Fully remote or travel work arrangements for this role are not available.
Responsibilities:
- Produce comprehensive detailed engineering designs, technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligning with project requirements and client expectations.

Lead the creation, refinement, and finalization of designs encompassing industrial and domestic piping, plumbing, HVAC ducting, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems, motor control, process chemicals, fire protection, and potentially other mechanical building systems with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.

Design, analyze, & calculate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maintain precise environmental conditions that include specific materials, specifications, and/or implement measures to control factors like temperature, humidity, air filtration, particle levels, etc., ensuring compliance with ASHRAE standards.

Apply established engineering techniques, exercising judgment to adapt and modify design concepts while ensuring compliance with company and team CAD standards for quality control.

Collaborate closely with design teams, Engineers, Project Managers, and stakeholders to address specific objectives, complex features, and propose viable solutions to unique challenges.

Facilitate seamless coordination among various design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.) to fulfill design package requirements.

Conduct field verifications and site assessments to identify, verify, resolve, and integrate solutions into design packages, troubleshooting design issues during construction as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree from an ABET-accredited school in Mechanical Engineering or technically related discipline.

Experience working with AutoCAD is required. Experience with Revit, Navisworks, PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic modeling software is a plus.

Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs containing HVAC, chillers, boilers, pump hydraulics, exhaust, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, or other similar mechanical building systems.

Salary Range: $68,000 - $98,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
