This position oversees tax planning for all domestic (US and State) and international tax returns, tax compliance and supporting other related tax functions for ISACA and its Affiliates. Provides shared service functionality, guidance, expertise, and advises on appropriate tax strategies for ISACA and its Affiliates. This role also performs complex tax preparation, tax research and tax planning and supervises tax staff providing work direction and technical guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and execution of the annual Non-Profit 990 returns for U.S. Federal and State tax and information returns with the external accounting firm for ISACA and its Affiliates as well as ISACA Chapters and ensure that returns are filed on or before IRS due dates

Oversee the preparation and filing of monthly/quarterly Sales and Use Tax returns for all applicable taxing authorities, both state and local, and ensures the accuracy of those returns

Work with external accounting firm to fulfill international tax compliance requirements, including related registration and filing activities

Monitor tax law changes impacting ISACA and its Affiliates and provide tax expertise to internal management to assist them in various strategic and operating decisions

Coordinate tax research and information gathering efforts utilizing internal and external resources as necessary

Investigate and respond to federal, state and other related tax correspondence

Assist in the development of the annual operating budget for tax related expenses

Supervise and assist in preparation of special projects, reports as required

Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and external third-parties

Assist with month-end close procedures including reconciliation of various general ledger accounts to enable accurate financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting Principles (GAAP).

Maintain all tax records, files and supporting documentation in accordance with accounting and tax guidelines
