Semco Aerospace, a business unit of SK AeroSafety Group, is seeking a Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician - Slide Shop in our Carrollton, Texas safety equipment MRO. We provide expert component maintenance on emergency, safety and survival equipment like crew oxygen masks, evacuation slides, life rafts, inflatable vests, and halon fire bottles, which we can recertify from a large variety of different manufacturers. Our facilities are F-A-A, D-O-T, and EASA certified, and we support businesses across the country.
Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician – Slide Shop MUST HAVE AT LEAST 18 MONTHS INFLATABLE SLIDE EXPERIENCE in an MRO 154 REPAIR STAION
Job Summary:
To provide scheduled maintenance , repair and overhaul services in the Slide Shop with technical support for the daily operations of our Carrollton facility. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced Inflatable Slides Lead capable of hands-on training and mentoring Staff-level Technicians in addition to executing the roles and duties of Inflatables Lead on the production floor.
Responsibilities:

Perform all aspects of maintenance on all the various aircraft systems, ensure safe operational procedures are followed and maintained.

Performs all work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures to ensure safety of self and others.

Inspects inflatable slide components for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear to ensure airworthiness.

Recommends replacement, repair, or modification of safety equipment based on inspection.
Reports issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel, as required. -
Repairs worn, defective, or damaged parts or components using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.

Inspects completed work to certify that maintenance adheres to standards and procedures, and that aircraft slide components are ready for operation.

Able to use FAA approved data (i.e., IPC, M/M, OHM, SRM, AMM, FIM, WDM and Repair Station Quality Manual) proficiently.

Researches, reads, and interprets technical manuals and guidelines to perform inspections, installations, repairs, or other work activities.

Reviews maintenance records to determine if service and maintenance checks, repairs, and overhauls were performed at prescribed intervals.

Maintains repair logs, documenting all preventative and corrective aircraft maintenance activities.

Ensure work performed adheres to high quality standards.

Serves as a technical expert or mentor by providing advice and corrective recommendations to others.

Effectively direct and oversee all work performed by apprentice level technicians assigned

Ensure that all training records are documented in AARs training management system.

Provide status tracking reports on each assigned apprentice technician weekly and monthly summary reports.

Provide step level progression updates monthly to the VP Workforce Development required by Department of Labor (RAPIDS) to maintain compliance with AARs National Apprenticeship Program.

Maintain activity report for all veterans assigned as apprentices.

Provide monthly activity report to VP Workforce Development.

Ensure all requirements are met for housing stipend for those participating in National Apprenticeship Program. Requirements are defined by the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Provide technical training to all company processes and procedures during all phases of inflatables operations

Perform inspection, preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting, efficiently on the.

Individuals must have 2 years' aviation experience, preferably on inflatables safety equipment.

Individuals must have excellent mechanical skills and the ability to understand and solve complex problems.

Individuals must possess computer skills to access company data and update documents.

Individuals must be able to communicate effectively with management and other internal departments on status updates.
