POSITION SUMMARY:
This position has primary responsibility for evaluating and repairing SICK products sent in by customers, solving advanced troubleshooting problems, and quickly repairing basic problems. This includes troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis, and ultimately repairing the product.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate field failures per SICK specifications and use diagnostic tools to determine if parts conform to specifications.

Diagnose non-conforming parts for non-repairable, local repair, or off site repair.

Perform complex repairs or coordinate repair with external subcontracting repair facility.

Complete necessary repair paperwork and enter data into the ERP system, track the product, and the repair process.

Fill out status reports on open repairs, inform key stakeholders of potential delays in the repair process.

Identify recurring failures in returns, document them, and inform key stakeholders in quality and engineering.

Collaborate with Customer Service to provide status update as required on customer repairs.

Validate internally and externally performed repairs to ensure SICK quality standards are met prior to returning parts to customers.

Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
-
Associates degree in a technical related field, preferable within electronics or experience in lieu of degree.

5-10 years of experience in electronics troubleshooting and product repair.
Other Qualifications:
-
Prior ERP experience preferred; SAP experience is a plus.

Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in order to analyze and repair electronic circuits.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications.

Ability to work independently.

Ability and willingness to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed.

Legally permitted to work in the United States.

Ability to work in a general office environment.
