Warehouse Lead
Hours: Thursday- Monday 12-9
Role Description:
- The Warehouse Lead is responsible for Leading Teams of Workers conducting warehouse operations. This role involves supervising and motivating warehouse staff, while optimizing efficiency in a warehouse environment
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to efficiently manage operations and prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with warehouse & office staff.
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure 100% accuracy
- Proficiency in using handheld scanners and zebra printers is a plus, but previous experience is not required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse role is required.
- The ability to successfully operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Forklift Certification is a plus, but not required. Training and Certification is available on site
- The job involves lifting heavy boxes and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements.
- Problem-solving skills to address any operational challenges and ensure smooth operations.
- Provide leadership & support to other co-workers and warehouse staff members in day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving Process:
- Unload Trucks with Forklift
- Sign and Date/Time at time of receipt
- Count to ensure all Totals on paperwork are correct or note discrepancies
- Check and if any Damage: Note on Documents and notify Supervisor
- Removal of Customs Holds:
- Check with Office team for any customs holds
- Pull Customs holds from Applicable Carton
- Store in Customs Holds Cage
Breakdown Process:
- Breakdown airline pallets
- Sort Cartons by unique identifier, such as tape color or Carton Label or 3- digit channel code.
- Fill out Warehouse Breakdown sheet and pass to office Team
- Repalletize or Dump into Gaylords based on Last Mile delivery Agent
- Utilize mobile workstation to print labels on Zebra printer
- Utilize a handheld scanning device for some customers:
- To scan labels and cartons
- To close out shipments loaded in Gaylord
- To close out Gaylords loaded on trucks
Dispatch Process:
- Receive Delivery Orders from Office Team
- Stage Cargo for Loading trucks
- Check Delivery order documents to ensure matching Actual Cargo
- Load Trucks
- Sign, Date/Time Delivery order and pass to Trucker
Communication
- Communicate any relevant information to other team members or warehouse staff involved in the logistics process.
- Supervise and train co-workers to ensure continuity of proper handling techniques and services.
Clean-Up:
- - Tidy up the work area by removing any debris or discarded packaging materials.
- - Return any tools, such as PDA, box cutters, Tape Guns, ect... to their designated storage area. Immediately notify Supervisor if any missing
Safety:
- Ensure that all equipment or supplies are safe to handle
- Ensure Safe operation of Forklifts and equipment
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary
- SAFETY FIRST - stop any personnel committing any unsafe act
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
