This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), Information Management and Technology Directorate (IM&T), Technology Services Division (TSD), Data Support Branch (DSB). The incumbent will be responsible for serving as an IT Data Management technical project leader.
As an IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT) at the GS-2210-13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Serving as an IT Data Management technical project leader.
- Responsible for full Life Cycle support of Amazon Web Services GovCloud hosted data systems.
- Designing, developing, and implementing RDBMS database instances within Amazon Web Services for development and production environments.
- Migrating application data from On-premise databases to Cloud databases.
- Installing, configuring, monitoring, upgrading, troubleshooting and maintaining databases in production and non-production environments.
- Configuring Cloud monitoring of Amazon Web Services hosted production databases - Backup and recovery (RMAN and traditional), Export and Import using Oracle Data Pump.

QualificationsYou may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
- Assisting with the planning and design of database systems;
- Researching and analyzing methods and procedures to incorporate changes to existing database systems;
- Evaluating the efficiency and performance of database systems and implementing tuning methods;
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining security mitigations to guard unauthorized intrusion;
- Assisting developers and analysts in their functionality development and testing;
- Documenting procedures for use in training junior database system administrators;
- Providing user training.

All individuals must have IT related experience that demonstrates each of these four competencies:
1) Attention to detail - Ensuring statement of work for procurement of products and service, technical documents, or troubleshooting of Information Technology problems are complete, free of error, and uses sound technical judgment.
2) Customer Service - Analyzing, defining, and delivering Information Technology support to organizations, and identifying problems with customer requests in order to achieve the desired product or service.
3) Oral communication - Presenting technical information to non-technicians in order to achieve understanding of desired specification or solutions to problems.
4) Problem Solving - Diagnosis of issues for organizational or installation wide integrated Information Technology systems for compatibility of new technology, capacity issues, or ensure IT systems continue to meet changing mission requirements.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

This position requires the incumbent to possess or attain at least an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification within 6 months of entering the position. Employees will be required to sign a Statement of Understanding regarding the certification requirement and maintaining the required certification is a condition of employment. This position has been identified and will be covered by DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program and requires certification.
This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the civilian Drug-Testing Program. As a mandatory requirement for employment in this TDP, the incumbent is to (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if required, submit to urinalysis testing. The employee must sign statements acknowledging the position is identified as a TDP.
The employee may be required to work other than normal hours, which may include evening, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime.
Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
