Achievement Center for Therapy is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a position in our brand new San Diego office location. Full time with benefits.
Established over 10 years ago and headquartered in Southern California, with a second location in Las Vegas, NV., and now a new third location in the Point Loma area of San Diego. Achievement Center for Therapy proudly serves the families of Ventura County, San Diego County and Clark County communities. The Achievement Center for Therapy facility is state of the art; providing each employee with ample space for individual and group therapy. Therapists have access to private therapy rooms, feeding therapy rooms, an observation room, and a motor-sensory gym and ABA gyms as well at each location.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The speech-language pathologist (SLP) is expected to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication delays, and disorders. In this position, you will gain mentorship and experience with feeding and swallowing disorders, as well as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The SLP will provide formal evaluations and develop unique therapeutic plans for patients. Therapy plans developed by the SLP enhance the goals and objectives of each individual patient. The SLP is responsible for the documentation of formal evaluations and daily appointment progress notes, as well as communicating regularly with parents, and ensuring that the quality of all services is up to ACT’s standard. Company desktop computers are provided to have access to our EMR in the privacy of your own office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid California Licensure as an SLP from the State of California Board, and a degree from any accredited Speech Language Masters Program.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English to understand directions and communicate with clients.
- Experience working with early intervention and with special needs preferred.
- Ability to physically move about the building.
- Ability to lift and position clients (30-80 pounds) if assigned to a patient with such requirements.
- Ability to make minor decisions with minimal supervision in accordance with established procedures and use basic safety skills for all patients and staff.
- Training (CPR) and to apply training in crisis situations including patient restraints if needed for their safety.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, feeding and swallowing disorders.
- Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
- Treat speech, language, communication, feeding and swallowing disorders.
- Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals.
- Keep detailed records using ACT’s EMR system relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.
- Work collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines.
