McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure clinical track Assistant Professor faculty position in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology. The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other services.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The Assistant Professor will provide direct patient care to patients in the Gastroenterology Clinic and consultations; evaluate, examine, diagnose and treat gastroenterological disorders for pediatric patients; perform endoscopy, esophageal pH-impedance probe testing, colonoscopy, breath hydrogen analysis, percutaneous gastrostomy placement, polyp removal, foreign body removal, and therapeutic endoscopy. The physician will collaborate with many other groups, including general pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, neurologists, pulmonologists, nephrologists, intensivists, and neonatologists.
Qualifications:
The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Special consideration will be given to physicians interested in developing career expertise in polyposis syndromes, motility disorders, or inflammatory bowel disease research.
Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology and be able to obtain a Texas Medical License.
