Job Title: Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper proficient in QuickBooks to join our team. This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, allowing the right candidate to balance in-office and remote work.
Position Summary: The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and proficiency in QuickBooks. This role is crucial to ensuring the financial health and compliance of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
Payroll Processing:
- Process payroll on a bi-weekly/monthly basis.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Manage employee time tracking and benefits administration.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Generate and analyze financial reports to assist management in decision-making.
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial reports.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and report any variances.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file sales tax returns and other required tax filings.
- Assist with year-end tax preparations and audits.
General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.
Customer and Vendor Relations:
- Manage relationships with customers and vendors regarding billing and payment inquiries.
- Resolve discrepancies and issues related to financial transactions.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files and records.
- Support other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (certification preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of accuracy and efficiency.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, QuickBooks ProAdvisor) are a plus.
Work Environment:
