The Triangle Aquatic Center (TAC) is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician. This position can lead to a full-time salaried position with benefits for the right individuals. This position will be responsible for all facility maintenance and managing staff to assist in completing all required maintenance projects. Employee will need considerable knowledge pool operations, equipment, HVAC, electric and plumbing maintenance and repair of these systems. This position works closely with the all areas of operations and requires weekday, weekend and evening availability.
Position Requirements
- Candidate must be lifeguard certified or be able to obtain certification within thirty (30) days after employment begins
- Candidate must be a Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) or be able to obtain certification within sixty (60) days after employment begins
- Candidate must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Background in competitive swimming is a plus
- Knowledge in basic electrical applications
- Knowledge in basic HVAC applications
- Knowledge in basic plumbing applications
- Knowledge in wood and cabinet repair
- Be able to lift 100 lbs floor to chest
- Be able to work from tall ladders and boom lift
- Must possess general ability to repair small appliances
- Position entails general facility janitorial service to maintain building cleanliness and sanitation and to assist in managing janitorial service team
- Positive, cheerful attitude
- See it/Fix it approach - must work independently and proactively
- Candidate works in a public facility during open hours - proper hygiene and appearance is essential
Education: High School Degree
Experience: Previous experience in the trades is preferred but not required. Experience in pool maintenance/management preferred but not required.
Compensation: Part-Time Hourly. Up to $25/hour with mechanical experience. Pay commensurate with experience. Full time /salaried position with benefits can be available after ninety days of employment for the right individuals.
Hours: Up to 30+ hours/week. Weekdays/Weekends/Evenings/Holidays. Supervisor will work with you to set a schedule that fits our needs and your schedule.
