Summary
The responsibilities of a Budtender, or GOOD-tender, include greeting & welcoming customers, helping with product selection, adhering to policies and procedures, and ensuring a wonderful patient experience. An outstanding Budtender should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills to ensure patients are well-informed and satisfied with their purchase and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides a wonderful experience for the patient
- Advises and recommends suitable cannabis products to patients based upon their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis
- Stays knowledgeable & current with new cannabis products on the market as well as emerging industry trends
- Processes patient transactions accurately and efficiently using a Point of Sale (POS) system
- Ensures the dispensary is clean and well-organized at all times
- Educates patients on the safe use of their selected cannabis products
- Verifies patient & customer identification documents for age eligibility and/or credentials needed to enter the dispensary and purchase product
- Meet or exceed sales goals and targets
- Maintains compliance by following proper policies and procedures set by the Company and State regulators
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must be able to obtain a Missouri Agent Card and pass a background check
- Sound knowledge of (or willingness to learn) cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Works well with other team-members and leadership
- Reliable Transportation
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, preferably in a tech or wireless sales environment
- Ability to upsell/cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities
- Proficient in basic math for cash handling and retail cannabis calculations
