DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Senior Writer/Editor to support high profile, federal clients, with strategic and health communications planning and public health communications projects. The Senior Writer/Editor provides writing and editorial support for the development of high-quality materials and products for various health communications and health promotion projects, initiatives, and programs. You will be working directly with clients, developing, and planning written content for strategic communication and health promotion products and materials. Candidate must be customer service oriented, flexible, and have excellent attention to detail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Write, edit, update and develop senior-level communications products across multiple health program areas, including but not limited to briefing papers, materials for webinars, memos, frequently asked question (FAQs) documents, legislative and policy correspondence, meeting notes, meeting invitations, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Write and edit content for submission to academic journals, documents, and journals.
- Write and edit newsletter articles, social media, and other program communications using plain language guidelines.
- Conducts interviews and writes/edits blog posts on multiple topics in the health arena.
- Review and edit documents, recommending revisions to improve flow, clarity, and consistency.
- Collaborate with writers for agreement on plain language solutions for well-written content.
- Use communication tools and technology to write, edit, and publish program information that is appealing, engaging, and customer friendly.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism and/or English and 5-7 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Ideal candidates will possess specific public health writing experience on topics, related to vaccines and immunizations, as well as HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, tick-borne diseases, blood and tissue safety, antimicrobial resistance, and hospital-acquired infections.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
