Job Summary: The primary purpose of the position is to assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, governing our facility.
Collaborate with Healthcare professionals to tailor residents based on their medical conditions and preferences. Implement initiatives to enhance the dining experience and nutritional outcomes for residents.
Dietary Manager Responsibilities
- Run day-to-day operations within the department
- Work with food service employees to ensure dietary restrictions are met
- Oversee preparation of meals in accordance with planned menus and make only authorized food substitutes.
- Oversee preparation of food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders
- Review care plans as necessary to assure that the resident's dietary needs are being met
- Provide nutrition counseling with assistance from a registered dietitian
- Assist in the overall training and managing of the dietary team, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment
- Participation in Interdisciplinary Care Meetings and Complete Required Nutritional Assessments and Documentation.
Dietary Manager Requirements
- Must be a Certified Dietary Manager(CDM) or Nutrition Dietetics Technician, Registered
- Graduate of an approved dietary management course
- Knowledge of basic food preparation & therapeutic diets.
- Previous long-term care experience is desirable
- Prior experience working with geriatrics
- Food Service preferred. Prior management experience preferred
