JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Program Nurse provides nursing assessments; assists clients in completing the medical portion of their treatment plan, initial discharge, and aftercare plan; and oversees the medical and psychiatric management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician. He/She is also a member of the treatment team and provides input into the development of the master treatment plan. He/She functions under the guidance of the State licensure and in accordance with standards of State and Federal regulations.
JOB DUTIES:
- Performs clinical nursing activities in a safe, professional manner and maintains compliance with established nursing care standards.
- Completes initial nursing assessment upon admission.
- Obtains medical provider's orders for admission upon patient’s arrival.
- Administers medications during indicated medication pass times.
- Documents all services provided appropriately and in a timely manner in the client's chart.
- Documents client progress/regress according to established policies and procedures.
- Assess the patient's needs and communicate appropriately to the medical providers as needed.
- Coordinates and assures all medical provider’s laboratory orders and orders for referrals to outside medical providers are communicated and carried out.
- Shares pertinent information with the team as obtained from patients or family throughout the program.
- Collaborates with the medical staff to provide medical and nursing care.
- Notifies medical providers of patient’s compliance with their ordered psychiatric/medications as well as patient’s having possible medication reactions.
- Notifies medical providers of all abnormal reports for medical services (e.g. labs, x-rays, etc.) for patients in a timely manner.
- Notifies medical provides of any patient medical changes.
- Notifies a medical provider immediately of any patient medical emergencies and phoning the Emergency Rescue unit if a patient’s medical condition warrants this to assure the patient's medical/health safety.
- Demonstrates knowledge of medication actions, side effects, and contraindications.
- Continues with educational courses and in-service training, per policies and procedures.
- Reports abuse of patient’s rights immediately.
- Participates in Performance Improvements monitoring and evaluating activities.
- Demonstrates objectivity and maturity under stress.
- Demonstrates good communication skills.
- Performs in a professional manner and models a positive image of mental health.
- Acts decisively and effectively in managing staff, patients, and other employees during emergency situations.
- Responds positively to changing situations in the work setting.
- Performs other capacities as needed.
ABOUT US:
South Carolina Addiction Treatment is a 16-bed medical detox & residential facility for substance use disorder. We offer individualized, extended-term treatment in an intimate setting located in Greenville / Simpsonville, SC. We take a holistic approach to treating addiction, offering a variety of treatment modalities centered around identifying and resolving the underlying issues associated with the addiction. Each client enrolled in our program will receive individual attention from a therapist and psychiatrist while gaining exposure to a multitude of traditional and alternative therapies, in addition to full meals provided by a dedicated kitchen team who look to provide comfort to those in treatment.

Pay: $27.00 - $36.00 per hour
