The Portfolio Director acts as a strategic partner and service bridge between business partners and OComm to ensure expectations are being met and the right people are involved in the process. The Portfolio Director ensures clear direction and quality intake – from completed forms to creative briefs – and ensures the work is on strategy throughout the development process. The Portfolio Director is the connective tissue that stays with a campaign/initiative and the various asset creation processes, start to finish. Additionally, this individual proactively represents their business partners’ view to the OComm team and ensures the work meets expectations, while getting the right people involved at the right times. Experienced Portfolio Directors will “learn” the business partner, the brand/products/programs, and how they need to work, while still adhering to standard processes and interaction models. Integrated Portfolio Management is a new function and team within the AAMC’s Communications and Marketing cluster, akin to account management.
