Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and maintaining pharmacy inventory
- Enter prescription information into the computer system accurately
- Prepare medications for patients, including measuring, mixing, and labeling
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or requests for medication information
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent work experience
- Certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration
- Experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is highly desired
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Skills:
- Proficient in pharmacy operations and procedures
- Knowledge of different types of medications and their uses
- Familiarity with patient care in an acute care or hospital setting
- Experience with inhalation and IV infusion medications
- Understanding of critical care practices and protocols
- Ability to maintain aseptic technique when handling medications
