Seeking Experienced, Highly Organized Medical Biller/Patient Account Representative
Due to continued growth within our company, we are seeking an experienced, highly organized Medical Biller/Patient Account Representative.
As a Medical Biller/Patient Account Representative, you might be responsible for assisting in the completion of accurate billing and/or collection of all claims submitted for payment to a wide variety of payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, marketplace, federal, etc.)
As a Medical Biller/Patient Account Representative, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing all billing services in accordance with state/federal regulations, while remaining in compliance with treatment plans, as well as professional practices.
- Coordinating accumulation and verification of all necessary documentation required for billing.
- Processing correspondence and telephone calls from all payers regarding all claims.
- Responsible for timely resolution of all claims including corrected claims, appeals and communicating with agency personnel on incorrect payer data.
- Reviewing patient accounts, collecting past due balances and creating payment plans.
- Verifying billing frequency, required forms, and general billing requirements.
- Follow up on accounts for billing, and on overdue accounts for collections via phone calls.
- Re-submissions, and adjustments for billing errors.
- Maintaining an acceptable percentage goal of outstanding AR, depending on the plan.
- Effectively working and resolving billing edits in a timely manner.
- Managing clearinghouse and payer accept/reject reports in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a medical collector/biller, working with high receivables in the healthcare industry.
- Experienced in Microsoft Excel
- High School Diploma
- Great Organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal/written communication
- Team player
- Interpersonal skills
