The Apartment Manager assures that the tenants and the housing facility are well monitored and performing optimally. The Apartment Manager is the front-line staff to see that tenants are fulfilling the obligations of their lease agreements, and participating appropriately in the community. The Apartment manager also ensures that the drug- and alcohol-free property is maintained in a safe, pleasant, and economical manner. Compensation package for this position includes a one bedroom apartment with utilities paid and a $600 per month stipend
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide and maintain posted office hours.
- Complete move-in: familiarize to property, house rules, office hours, make welcome.
- Maintain tenant obligations to property, house rules/pet rules and lease conditions.
- Report violations of drug free property rules.
- Collect rent payments from tenants, and issue receipt to the tenant.
- Deliver or post tenant notices as directed by Sequoia Housing Management including: 24 hour entry, past due rent, recertification interview, general notices, etc.
- Maintain clean common areas, office, refuse bins, and front entryways.
- Complete maintenance requests and submit them to the management office.
- Conduct annual inspections.
- Conducts house meetings
- Monitor mail delivery, laundry space, utility usage, and other household systems.
- Ensure the peaceable enjoyment of the home by all tenants.
- Provide emergency contact information.
- Other duties as needed or directed.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Peer Support Certification preferred
Experience:
- Experience working successfully with persons with disabilities and mental health issues;
- Candidates who also have a Peer Support Certification are Ideal
Required skills:
- Familiar with landlord/tenant law;
- Ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with wide variety of staff and constituents;
- Ability to use network and database software applications;
- Current acceptable Oregon Driver’s License and criminal history clearance.
- Peer Support Certification desired
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment;
- Walk, bend, kneel, and reach;
- Able to climb stairs, lift up to 35 lbs. and operate cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, etc.).;
- Stand and/or sit for long periods of time;
- Talk, hear, and communicate with clients;
- See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents.
