KRM Covington is a non-profit refugee and immigrant services agency, assisting newcomers who are in the process of making Northern Kentucky their new home. Founded in 1990 as a nonprofit agency, KRM is a local affiliate of the national network of agencies authorized to provide resettlement services to refugees admitted to the United States through the State Department’s Refugee Admissions Program. The KRM Covington sub-office opened in October of 2021 and currently receives refugee arrivals from Afghanistan, Syria, DR Congo, Venezuela, and Ukraine. With clients and staff of a variety of backgrounds, KRM proudly serves all clients regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Job Description
KRM is seeking passionate and dedicated interpreters to bridge communication gaps in our Covington office by providing in-person interpreters, during normal business hours. You will play a vital role in supporting our teachers and staff by interpreting for Cultural Orientation classes, various orientations, and individual appointments.

Responsibilities:
- Provide consecutive interpretation for in-person Cultural Orientation classes, orientations, and appointments.
- Collaborate with KRM teachers and staff to ensure clear and effective communication.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information obtained during interpretations.
- Participate in online live translation for online Cultural Orientation classes (as needed).
- May require occasional evening and weekend work (as needed)
Qualifications:
- Live in Northern KY/Cincinnati area
- Fluency in English and a second language.
- Prior experience in interpretation, especially in a classroom setting, is preferred.
- Strong cultural competency and understanding of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $28.00 per hour
