ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Currently looking for a Crew Member to be assigned in a Cashier/Barista position within the operation.
ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Norman J. Priest Scholarship. In addition, the Foundation administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Foundation contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
The cashier/barista duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to: General store operations, opening/closing duties, customer service relations, attending employee meetings, and handling cash, credit cards, and campus plans, other duties as assigned.
Cashier/Customer Service

Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting all customers and assisting with questions

Processing transactions using registers
-
Communicating with guests
-
Assisting dish room and dining room attendants as needed.

Follows cash register reporting procedures and cash handling policies
-
Maintains front cashier area clean and organized
-
Working in a team environment
-
Performs other duties as assigned
Dishwasher
-
Cleaning and sanitizing all soiled dishes including but not limited to pots, pans, utensils, small wares, buckets, containers, and other equipment.
- Responsible for the use and daily maintenance of commercial dishwashers and 3 pot sinks.

Maintaining dish room clean and organized

Subject to safety training including chemical handling

Working in a team environment

Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED)

minimum of 6 months quick service restaurant experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
PREFERRED AND ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS:
- Excellent communication skills
- Obtain ServeSafe Certification within 30 days of hire date for individuals handling food items

Ability to multitask
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance as well as adhere to schedule

Work schedule is subject to change due to campus holidays and holiday break closures
