Environmental Graphic Designer – Environmental Branding Team
Kahler Slater is seeking an Environmental Graphic Designer with 1+ year of experience to join our Environmental Branding Team.
Our ideal team member is passionate about translating our clients' goals into physical spaces that tell our client’s story, history, vision, and brand. In this role, you will bring an understanding of environmental graphic design best practices. You will work in collaboration with our design team and clients to identify project goals and key drivers and create effective design solutions.
You will work across Kahler Slater in alignment with our open and flexible culture that encourages individual initiative and collaboration.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities of an Environmental Graphic Designer:
Project Development
- Research to integrate clients’ stories into built environments
- Work in all phases of the project from concept through fabrication and installation
Leadership
- Support firm project teams with environmental and brand design
- Collaborate with Interior Designers and Architects to connect a project’s design intent with technical requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of an Environmental Graphic Designer:
- Degree in Graphic Design, Interior Design, or Architecture
- Self-motivated with a passion for graphic design and the translation of branding into built environments
- 1+ year of prior experience in environmental graphic design, signage design and/or wayfinding programs
- Strong communication skills, spoken, written, and graphic
- Demonstrated ability to work in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator with CAD tools
- Ability to work in other 3D modeling programs including Revit and SketchUp preferred
- Demonstrated experience in managing vendors, documenting design, and architectural and fabrication processes
- Evidence of successful collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams
- Effective time management with multiple deadlines
- Maintains a positive, professional attitude
Working Relationships and Scope of an Environmental Graphic Designer:
- Reports to Creative Director
- Work in a collaborative studio environment – mix of virtual and in person
- Represents the firm in alignment with Kahler Slater’s core values
- Interacts with external clients and partners
Working Conditions of an Environmental Graphic Designer:
Work is performed in a professional, collaborative, creative, open office environment. Great flexibility in your schedule is both required of you and returned to you due to our many project deadlines. Occasional travel is expected as it relates to servicing clients and professional development.
