SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician II performs a variety of highly skilled maintenance work that requires an in-depth knowledge of various trades, including mechanical, electrical and pneumatics. The Maintenance Technician II is expected to troubleshoot, repair, install, adjust, and maintain machinery, devices, moving parts and equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Install, repair, rebuild, and otherwise maintain heavy duty and highly complicated precision machine tools and equipment (CNC and manual Mills/turns, Lathes, Mills, Welders) requiring a broad knowledge of mechanics, machine design, machining practices and techniques.
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties; effect repairs and adjustments, either temporarily to keep machine in production, or permanently if required and feasible.
- Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining and/or replacement of purchased parts.
- Complete installation and setup of CNC or manual machinery.
- Work closely with machine operators to ensure equipment is operating as designed.
- Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Lay out repair parts; perform minor fabrication of parts using mills, lathes, grinders, etc.
- Perform basic welding using established practices and techniques.
- Fabricate, weld or machine parts as needed for repairs.
- Perform machinist's work having to do with the installation of new machine tools or relocation of existing machines to involve erection, leveling, fitting, and aligning operations.
- Maintains and helps support the development of Preventative Maintenance plans.
- Skilled in team processes, ability to work with others to identify and solve problems, resolve conflicts, and optimize opportunities.
- Supports General Facility Duties and performs Maintenance related activities on Building infrastructure as required.
- Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, and clean/restock area at end of shift.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma. Associate degree in industrial maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years as CNC maintenance technician or 8 years in machine maintenance with machine repair, pneumatics, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems required.
- Experience with CNC controls, PLC’s and servo drives preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Examples:
- Electrician certification preferred.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Conversational in any other language preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.
- Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.
JOB SKILLS
- Proficient in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of electrical infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
- Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
- Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
- Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S related performance teams.
- A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical requirements outlined below indicate those necessary to fulfill this position's core responsibilities. While performing job duties, the employee will regularly engage in activities such as using hands to finger, handle, or feel and communicating verbally. Additionally, the employee will frequently need to reach with hands and arms while standing and walking as part of the role. Occasional lifting and movement of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. This position also demands specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
